The Fixed Head style clothes hoist is the most challenging of clotheslines to install, so this installation guide helps break down each of the core steps to make the process easier for you to understand and follow.
Where to Start With your Galvanised Clothesline Installation
Step 1.
- Lay out your clothesline in parts to ensure nothing is missing.
- Select a suitable site with about one meter clearance on all sides of the galvanised clothesline.
Tools Required For the Installation
- Spade
- Level
- Pliers
- Screwdrivers
- A good quality ready-to-mix dry cement
- Some blue metal, which we placed at the bottom of the hole.
Step 2.
Dig the hole for the clothes hoist to be installed into which should be about 800 millimeters deep and approximately 200 millimeters in diameter.
Place the "Main Standard"(bottom section of the clothes hoist with the handle section) in the hole and check if it is a convenient height for the operator.
Step 3.
Next step is to fit the arms into the cross section and then, place the arm stay brackets in the locating arm.
Squeeze the arm stay brackets together, to help align the holes. Insert the correct bolt and nut and repeat the same step for each arm. It's important at this stage not to tighten any of the screws.
Attach the stay to each of the arm stay brackets and repeat this process for the other three stays.
Ensure the top cap, lower assembly, is in place at the top of the pole and that the locating bolt on the cross aligns with the bolt on the lower assembly. This will ensure the correct alignment of the arms.
